GCSE Results 2024

Higham Lane School is delighted to announce an incredible set of GCSE results for 2024, showcasing the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our amazing students and wonderful staff.

Over one in five of all GCSE grades awarded to Higham Lane students were the highest GCSE Grades 9-7. Among the school’s top performers are Tara Marashi, Maya Russell, Nicholas Khozyainkov, Molly Talbot, Reuben Craig and Isabel Locke who all averaged well-above a Grade 8 which is an incredible achievement.

Approximately, 83% of our students achieved Grade 4 or above in English and Maths which is significantly above national average. Furthermore, 65% of our students have achieved Grade 5 or above in English and Maths; this is in comparison with a national average of 45%, which shows just how well our fantastic students have performed. We are so proud of all of our Higham Lane students!

A key performance indicator for schools is Attainment. We achieved an average grade of 5.4 which is amazing! This compares excellently to a national average of 4.6. It is expected that our Year 11 Higham Lane students will achieve a Progress 8 score that is significantly above national average, again confirming just how well our wonderful students have performed.

While we celebrate those students who have achieved the highest grades, we also want to acknowledge the efforts of every student, particularly those who have worked tirelessly to meet or exceed their progress targets. Every achievement at Higham Lane, no matter the grade, is a success when it represents dedication and personal growth. We would like to pay special tribute to Nikita Galusko, Lewis Keel, Ruby Stevens, Olly Knightsmith, Arwen Short and Mohammed-Harris Dawood for their fantastic results and in particular their outstanding progress from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4. Well done!

Mr. Gannon, Headteacher at Higham Lane School, shared his pride in this year's results:
"We are extremely proud of all of our students who have worked incredibly hard, effectively supported by our highly-skilled and dedicated team of teaching and support staff, as well as their families and carers who are so supportive of our young people and of the school. These amazing GCSE results reflect their resilience and determination to succeed. We wish them all the very best for the future and look forward to hearing about their continued successes. We are also incredibly excited to welcome many of our Year 11 students back to Higham Lane School next year as they embark on their A-Level studies at our fantastic Higham Lane Sixth Form. We look forward to continuing to support their educational journeys and helping them achieve even greater success in the future. Once again, congratulations to the Class of 2024 for their remarkable achievements! The entire Higham Lane School community is incredibly proud of you all!”
